Biography

Before joining Merlin Law Group, Mr. Bush’s previous law firm received the prestigious Law Firm of the Year award from Storm Ventures Group in 2022, recognizing it as the top law firm in the nation. He was honored as the Elite Lawyer of the Year in both 2020 and 2024, and, on two occasions, Mr. Bush and his team were featured as Law Firm of the Month in Attorney at Law magazine. He has also earned the Super Lawyer designation, a distinction reserved for the top 2.5% of attorneys and was awarded the Advocate’s Award by the Florida Association of Public Adjusters for his efforts in exposing insurance carrier fraud. He serves as a founding board member of The Florida Policyholders Cooperative and was appointed as an advisory board member of the American Policyholder Association (APA).

Attorney Steven Bush has always had an entrepreneurial spirit. His experience as a Certified Indoor Environmentalist in New Orleans during the Hurricane Katrina Recovery Effort exposed him to the tactic’s insurance companies used to deny policyholders their rightful claims and highlighted the lack of awareness policyholders had regarding their insurance rights. This experience led him to obtain a Public Insurance Adjuster license in Florida, where he gained extensive experience handling a wide range of losses for both homeowners and business owners.

After years of representing policyholders as a public adjuster, Steven earned his law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law, where he was honored with the “Legislator of the Year” award as an active member of the Student Bar Association. During his studies, he also contributed to the school’s Criminal Defense Clinic, defending cases under the supervision of a licensed Florida attorney. Upon graduating and joining the Florida Bar Association, Steven formed The Bush Law Group, bringing together a team of attorneys with diverse strengths and experiences. He is licensed to practice law in Florida, Georgia, Texas, and Washington, D.C.
